G.A.S. (guitar/gear acquisition syndrome) hit earlier today. Actually I became quite pissed with the degrading electronics in my Kramer Focus. Shorts in the electronics turned the guitar into a Talk Radio antenna. I decided to correct it once and for all.

Here you can see the old Strat copy body I no longer use. I found an unused 250k pot in there, which serves as my new volume control.
I decided while I was in there to remove the tone controls and relocate the volume pot to a more suitable location. I was constantly hitting it in its original location.

As you can see, I didn't bother to cover the old holes from the previous pots. The small hole to the direct left of the pot used to have a coil-tap switch for the stock bridge humbucker.

Nope, the polepieces don't line up. I didn't get the Trembucker version. So what? There's no noticeable difference in volume between the strings. The new pickup brings out the pinch harmonics much better than the stock pickup ever did.
I removed one trem spring, leaving four holding the trem against the body--it doesn't "float". With the new, simple, one-knob setup, there's a lot less to deal with. I didn't use the tone controls, so I won't miss them. And the new location for the volume pot means I won't be accidentally hitting it anymore, yet it's still within reach.
